Amrik Sukhdev Dhaba on the Delhi-Ambala Highway is much more than just a roadside stop—it's a mandatory culinary destination.
Though this highway stretch in Murthal is lined with countless dhabas, big and small, Sukhdev stands out as the one most travelers prefer. It has earned its title as one of the biggest and most visited establishments in the entire area.
Located approximately 48.7 kms from Delhi, this spot is a diner's paradise for authentic, budget-friendly, Indian dhaba-style food. What started as a small, humble eatery has now been modernized and expanded into a sprawling, family-friendly complex. Amrik Sukhdev has truly become the heart of Murthal; frankly, the place speaks for itself—it's the undisputed King of the league.
The Sukhdev Signature
Amrik Sukhdev is a name known to everyone who travels this route. Going to Murthal means stopping here, especially for their famous paranthas—they are absolutely delicious!
At the table, you're immediately served complimentary lemon and mixed pickles. The service is fast, and the food is consistently excellent. The true specialty on the menu is the Tandoori stuffed paranthas, which include options like Aloo, Aloo Pyaz, Gobhi, Mooli, and Mixed paranthas. These are generously served alongside a dollop of pure white butter. This mouth-watering combination has become the reason it's most visitors' first choice.
While the paranthas are love, I'd also highly recommend their cold coffee or one of their excellent shakes—they are superb and a great way to wash down the spicy meal.
Worth the Visit, Worth the Stop
It's truly worth the money and worth a visit! Amrik Sukhdev has transformed into a brand now. The large, comfortable seating area ensures you never feel cramped, the ambiance is lively, the service is great, and the parking space is ample. It offers a great atmosphere and a delicious stop on the highway!
